Psychotherapist | Lecturer | Counsellor | Clinical Supervisor | Trainer
Carl Barge is a Psychotherapist and Lecturer and has over twenty years’ experience working extensively within the UK Prison System and his private practice working with individuals and groups. An extension of his work has been the delivery of Trauma Informed workshops within local authorities psycho educating practitioners, managers, and the wider community on service-users and stakeholders.
The promotion of psychological well-being is at the forefront of his practice. Providing students and clients an insight into the causes and effects of transgenerational mental health issues. This is often compounded by the health professions psychopathology of Black Indigenous People of Colour (BIPOC). The misdiagnosis of the Ethic Minority community has been highlighted and reported upon. The associated stigma of social consequences of negative attributes, the presumption of lack intelligibility and social competence as well as how dangerous they are. However, the changes in treatment have been slow to manifest in any significant way.
Carl is a Lecturer of Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents University and Reaching Solutions Psychotherapy & Counselling Training. He received his BSc in Integrative Counselling at Roehampton University, PGCE from Canterbury Christ Church University and Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision from Derby University.
He is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Black and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN).
Today, Carl's purpose and passion lies with helping others self-actualize and achieve the new life they desire.
Carl is also a part of One Vision Talking Therapy Services
